What your relationship status reveals about your Valentine's Day outfit this year

Whether you're newly in love, single or in a long-term relationship, you have to wear something on Valentine's Day anyway. We've put together a few infallible looks that will get you through the nerve-wracking day of love, depending on your relationship status.
One thing's for sure: on Valentine's Day, you're very likely to wear clothes (and if everything goes smoothly, maybe even take some off). How do I know that? Well, let's call it infallible intuition. And your relationship status will play a bigger role in your choice of clothes than you might realise at this stage.
Caution: The following article is peppered with snarky comments and is therefore not suitable for hopeful romantics. I accept no responsibility for any emotional discomfort that may visit the reader after reading it.
Your outfit as a single person: couch chic
Sorry, but I'll come straight out and say it: you have absolutely no reason to dress up. Face the truth and just treat yourself to a cosy evening on the sofa with the one true love of your life: a bag of crisps. On the plus side, nothing you put on has to match. The only requirement: it has to be comfortable and still fit when the bag of crisps is empty on the floor and you've moved on to the ice cream sundae. Side tip: A little Netflix can help you bridge the yawning void inside you.

Your outfit as a newly in love(s): Overdressed AF
Do you have your first date on Valentine's Day? Good for you. I just hope you realise that your eternal happiness depends on this day. From head to toe, every detail has to be just right. One wrong accessory and the dream is over. Then you wistfully watch your dream prince or princess ride off into the sunset without you. So make an effort, you only have this one chance. But don't put any pressure on yourself.

Your outfit if you're already in a long-term relationship
You may have a partner, but you don't really have to go all out anymore. After all, you've already sworn eternal fidelity to each other, so you're completely safe. Where there were sparks before, there's now just rubble and ashes and you're starting to wonder: Is that it or is there more to come? In terms of your outfit, it's "back to the roots", in other words: get back on the sofa. Your outfit is therefore in no way different from that of a single person.
And what do we learn from this? Either way, you'll end up back in your tracksuit or cosy pyjamas! So why bother getting dressed up if you've already reached your goal from the start?

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
