Start of autumn: lawn care products at great prices!

Even in autumn, mowing must continue as long as the lawn is growing. Just because it's autumn doesn't mean that the lawn has stopped growing: if the outside temperatures are still hot enough and the lawn still gets enough sun, it will continue to grow. Particularly after fertilisation, the lawn can continue to grow for some time, which is why it still needs to be mowed in autumn.
Lawn cutting
It is not possible to generally determine the best time for the last lawn cut. If the nights get too cold, the lawn will stop growing - this is usually the case from around mid-October.
Now you should mow your lawn one last time. The right height is important. For the last cut, you should cut the lawn around half a centimetre shorter than usual. A lawn length of around four centimetres is recommended. Regular weeding and maintenance of the lawn edges round off the work.
While stocks last, take advantage of the following selected lawn care products at great prices.

Dethatching
Dethatching aerates and deeply cleans the lawn, removing the remains of previous pruning, leaves or moss and various weeds from the lawn.
This gives you a pleasantly soft and dense lawn.
When scarifying in autumn, make sure that the lawn is mowed beforehand. After a very hot and dry summer in particular, scarifying can give the lawn a real breath of fresh air. Always make sure that the blades touch the ground lightly, but do not slash it. In any case, only the felt should be removed, soil cultivation is not the order of the day here. Scarifying too deeply damages the lawn roots and also wears out the device enormously. Ideally, the surface of the lawn and the soil should be dry before scarifying.
Smaller holes close by themselves, supported by subsequent fertilisation.

Fertilising
In October, you can give the lawn one last fertiliser. A potassium-emphasised lawn fertiliser is recommended here to make the plants strong for the winter.
Fertilising is best done in the evening if rainfall has been forecast for the night or the morning after. It is important that the fertiliser is not left on the plants when the sun heats the grass, as this can cause burns on the leaves.
If the predicted rainfall fails to materialise, you may need to use a garden hose to help.
Reseeding
Damaged areas can still be reseeded in September, as the grasses can then germinate and then have a long rest period ahead of them in which the roots can develop and strengthen.
Reseeding is best done as soon as the heatwave is over. If you want to reseed, you should use a special reseeding mixture for the bare patches.
