Seven of the softest outdoor seating options

These outdoor chairs have such plush upholstery that you could put them in your living room.

Forget what you know about garden furniture. The lines between indoor and outdoor are blurred. I’ve found these seven ultra-comfortable examples, so you can sit back and relax.

1. String art

Whether in grey or beige, the Micasa Horizon armchair has two soft seat cushions and a deep seat. This means you can choose to put your feet up or let them dangle. Another plus: the design looks light and airy thanks to the frame made of woven ropes. If you like things even lighter, you can choose a version without armrests.

2. Modular system

The Verona outdoor lounge set doesn’t lack versatility. It consists of different, fully padded modules with flexible cushions and comes in three subtle colours: green, grey and blue.

3. Natural beauty

Made from acacia wood, Erica is the perfect combination of function and aesthetics. It’s stackable, adjustable and pretty to boot. Rounded armrests make it comfortable and blend in with its surroundings. If you can’t get enough of this look, you can also have Erica as a dining chair.

4. Graphic pattern

The combination of glass fibre-reinforced plastic and an upholstered seat and backrest gives the low Komodo Poltrona armchair its attractive lounge feel. It’s available individually or as part of a group consisting of a sofa, a stool and a table.

5. Mixed materials

The wide, low Joati lounge chair may only have one seat cushion. But it catches the eye with its rattan-style backrest made of synthetic resin weave, which gives just enough to let you lean back. In terms of functionality, the design impresses with four height-adjustable feet so that you can compensate for uneven floors.

6. Curves are in

Joncols’ organic, rounded cushions are inspired by river stones. They’re designed to help the chair blend in better with its surroundings while ensuring comfort. Dining chairs and a lounge sofa are available to match this designer piece –choose from black or green.

7. Artificial wicker

The Montefalco chair is made of aluminium and features a backrest made of Viennese wicker. Its thick, cream cushions made of water-repellent fabric make it particularly comfortable.
