«Ho Ho Ho», «It’s the most wonderful time of the year for a beer», dabbing gingerbread men, flashing fairy lights… Yeah, intentionally ugly Christmas jumpers are funny. Well, they were. A few years ago. But since then, their punchlines have become about as worn as the runners on Santa’s sleigh.
Subtly Christmassy jumpers with festive colours or sophisticated details are clearly the better choice. Especially because you can wear them all season long, even after the boozy office Christmas party.
Whether you’re looking for a red knitted number, pretty appliqués or shiny ribbons, there are plenty of alternatives to brash, garish designs. I’ve waded through them all so you don’t have to and picked out my seven favourites.
