How does chaos spread so quickly across worktops? Wall bars with hooks are the perfect solution for creating order and keeping everything from herbs to cooking utensils within reach.
From the kitchen to the bathroom to the bedroom – putting up wall bars isn’t rocket science and sorts messy spaces out in no time. What’s more, with a little creative skill, you can turn them into decorative highlights, as demonstrated by the inspiring catalogues from Ferm Living and House Doctor.
Tips for fitting your wall bar
- Mix and match: combine different materials and colours. Try hanging copper pots next to wooden spoons and textiles next to stainless steel utensils, as this will create a cool contrast.
- Vintage vibes: old kitchen utensils such as an antique whisk or an old-fashioned enamel ladle can create a charming retro look.
- Personal touch: hang a small picture, a cookbook or a postcard between the kitchen utensils to add a personal touch.
- Add light: small cordless LED lights or fairy lights along the bar provide atmospheric lighting beautifully showcase your utensils.
- Focus on herbs: dried flowers and small pots of fresh herbs are practical and add a natural touch to your kitchen.
- Use the space: arrange several hanging rails one below the other to create additional storage space.
Disadvantages of wall bars and how to solve them
You can’t attach everything to walls. Large and heavy utensils will need a different kind of home. And if you prefer to put things behind doors, this open solution might not be for you. However, you could attach a wall bar on the inside of a door or cupboard for easier organisation.
