With the (generous!) reduction of my nail polish inventory, one type of polish suddenly shines in a completely new light: the top coat! Not the transparent one, which «only» provides shine. No, I'm talking about the iridescent, glittering, opalescent colleagues that lay over other shades like a magical veil, bringing variety and diversity to my nail designs.
The principle of a top coat is of course not new to me. In fact, the option of using one was simply completely lost in the abundance of my polish collection. Sure, who needs a semi-transparent glitter varnish when every conceivable colour in every possible finish is always to hand? This overabundance is completely banal - unless you run a nail salon. Incidentally, too much choice also kills your own creativity, as I realised.
Now I experiment with the few opaque colours I have left and combine them with my (currently three) sparkling top coats. I also like to layer the different effect paints on top of each other and see what comes out. And every bit of shimmer is very welcome, especially during the festive season!
