From sleep to street: why pyjama bottoms are my must-have item this spring

PJ-style pants combine comfort and style. A combination I’ve fallen for this spring. Here are five reasons you need a pair.

There’s one pair of trousers I never want to take off again: a pair of yellow chequed pyjama-style pants by JJXX. Over the past few weeks, I’ve worked, slept, strolled, chilled and brunched in these comfy cotton-linen mix bottoms – and gradually come out of winter mode.

Here are five reasons I believe pyjama bottoms or PJ-style pants are an essential item this spring.

1. Brave unpredictable spring weather

Endorphin-boosting sunshine one day, dreary showers the next. The unpredictable weather is notoriously challenging when it comes to choosing outfits. Long pyjama-style trousers have become just as essential for me as a light trench coat. Their loose and airy fit protect your legs from chilly breezes as well as the sun beating down.

2. Take the edge off the daily grind

No place is as comfortable as your bed. This makes pants that are made for sleeping hard to beat when it comes to comfort. While I’m forced to ditch my duvet when I leave the house, I can keep on my trousers. Thanks to their soft, lightweight fabric, a loose fit and elastic waistband, I can take some bedroom comfort with me.

3. Laze about in style

4. Combine with various styles

5. Put a spring in your step

Apart from a flowy dress, there’s no other item of clothing that makes me feel as ready for springtime as colourful PJ-style pants. They make we want to slip them over a bikini and stroll down to the nearest pool, or throw on a loose shirt and sniff my way through a flower market. They make me feel comfy and free, which is perfect for the season that stands for new beginnings.
