digitec closes Solothurn store

After one and a half years, it’s game over. digitec is closing its branch in Langendorf in the canton of Solothurn. It was the first digitec store within a Migros shopping centre. On 21 May 2021, digitec will be welcoming customers for the very last time in its «Ladedorf» store.

2019 saw electronics specialist digitec open its eleventh brick-and-mortar store in Langendorf near Solothurn. It was the first of its kind, located under the roof of a Migros shopping centre. One and a half years later, digitec is ending this pilot project. The concept of a pick-up site with a showroom was not in line with the needs of Migros Ladendorf’s customer base.

The digitec store in Langendorf will close its doors after closing time on 21 May 2021. Until then, the digitec team will continue to serve its customers in the region. After this, the closest branch for people in the Solothurn area will be around 40 kilometres away at the main station in Bern. This is also where Solothurn customers will see the odd familiar face – four of the seven employees from the Langendorf team will be working in the Bern store after the «Ladedorf» store is closed.
