Basic extras: beauty products that serve you
They’re not an absolute must but I wouldn’t want to go without them. These are three beauty basics which have become an essential part of my skincare and make-up routine.
We’re all familiar with fashion basics. A white T-shirt, a black coat and a pair of well-fitting jeans. The equivalent for beauty would probably be things like deodorant, shampoo, hairbrushes and so on. In other words, the foundation for hygiene. But if you ask me, there’s another set of basics. A handful of specific recommendations that, while not absolutely necessary, I believe could be useful for a wide range of people. Let’s call them «basic extras». Here are 3 of them.
Raise The Root Volume Spray by Color Wow
Many styling products that promise to add volume live up to their promise for one day at the very most. After that, you’re left to consider what to do with your flat hair and all the residue in it. Raise The Root by Color Wow is different. It gives the hairline volume, which in my case can last up to three days, and it gives it more grip without weighing it down. Simply spray generously into the roots of your hair and blow-dry or style. Your style can easily be touched up the next day without having to spray more product on again.

Foot Peel Foot Mask by Skin Republic
A professional pedicure is quite expensive. Especially if your feet are prone to calluses, like mine. In winter, mine come back at rapid speed too. Just two weeks after a professional treatment, I’d be due another appointment. The solution I’ve found to this came from the Community: the foot mask from Skin Republic.

Skin Republic foot peel
Foot cream & foot gel, 40 ml
Put your feet in the sock bags enriched with AHA, watch your favourite series for two hours and then wash it off. After that, you have to be patient. It takes about a week for the skin to peel off your feet. A warm footbath, a scrub and a foot file will remove the scaly evil. Then your feet will be presentable and soft again.
Here you can read how I fared on my first attempt with the foot mask.
Eyeshadow Primer Potion Original by Urban Decay
Does your eyeshadow like to creep into the crease of your eyelid after blinking a few times? If you want your eyeshadow to last longer, you can rely on Urban Decay’s Primer Potion. The creamy base is provided in a tube with applicator and comes in many variations, but in my opinion, the original can’t be topped. The mousse-like paste has a slightly beige tint which appears transparent on your skin. Make-up artists say, if you apply it under your eyes, the primer will fix your concealer for longer too.

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
