It’s 35 degrees. And there’s no rain in sight. Argh, how are you supposed to keep your cool in weather like this?
Do you need a fan, or a pool or maybe even air conditioning? In light of the crazy conditions, I quizzed our product experts for ways to stay cool.
Idea 1: for thirsty klutzes

I’m yet to meet a gadget enthusiast who doesn’t love this glass. Stick it in the freezer for an hour and then the liquid in the double-walled glass will chill your drink.

For those of you who still have an eye for design when you’ve got sweat dripping down your eyelids, I salute you… and suggest these might be up your street.

I’m not the biggest fan of electricity-guzzling air conditioning units. But if you do want to buy one then at least make sure it has a good energy rating.
It’s also important to consider the laws of thermodynamics. Energy doesn’t just disappear into nowhere – not even heat energy. A cooling unit produces heat as a result of trying to keep the place cool. That’s why you need a tube to lead the heat away and stop your room from just getting warmer.
