Hot stuff: top 10 trendiest fans

It's hot, we're sweating - many of us don't have the luxury of air conditioning in the office or at home. And even with air-conditioning, the air can still be muggy. Here are 10 devices to keep you cool and attract envious glances.
Summer has arrived in Switzerland. Lunch in the sun, a dip in the Limmat and soaking up the sun on the way to work - what could be better? When it's time to return to the office and it's not air-conditioned, there's only one watchword: cool off. Air conditioners are expensive, noisy and not necessarily effective everywhere. Their little brothers, the fans, blow a refreshing breeze near you.
Here are my top 10, needless to say they're currently my best friends.
Italy, Italy
The green-white-red heart is still bleeding. Especially as the World Cup in Russia approaches. Are you allowed to watch the afternoon matches in the office, but don't have air conditioning? Make a point with your colleagues: who would be against an exciting Azzurri match in a pleasant cool breeze?

Get rich or die tryin'
Pure luxury: every self-respecting person owns a Dyson. Your hoover doesn't count, because it only cools the bedbugs in your bedroom or the fleas under your carpets. Put your hand in your wallet and Dyson will thank you with a cool, designer vacuum cleaner. But be warned, Dyson only stirs air too.
The sound of cold
A speaker with a built-in fan? Surely, Rotel was inspired by Aurel's article on mashup objects! Well no... No sound comes out of this speaker. Five fans in something that looks like a speaker and basta.
Old, but gold
In the US, it's a classic found in every restaurant, we've seen them in the movies and anyone who hasn't yet hung themselves from them and been dragged through endless turnstiles has really missed out. The ceiling fan is undoubtedly the king of fans.
Q
Kisses from Russia. A fan straight out of the James Bond series? Sadly no, the Stadler Form fan doesn't hide any fancy gadgets invented by Q. Still, it's a great aluminium fan - a must-have for design fans who struggle with the heat.
Klimatistan? Where's that?
Is that a globe? Not at all. But it looks like one, doesn't it? Yes, yes, but it's a standing fan. Isn't it? Funny, that's China I see there. Could it be? Yes, but it's just the 'Made in China' label. [[productlist:6375479]]
Frankenstein
What the hell is this thing? A battery-powered water sprayer that still has to be manually operated. But that's precisely what makes it my favourite - this thing is so basic that it has the potential to become cult.
We come in peace
Will Smith would have kicked the shit out of this fan like he did the stinking alien in Independence Day. Luke Skywalker from Star Wars would have got rid of it, like he did the Death Star, in no time. And E.T. would have phoned home to make fun of that weird UFO. As well as making me think of an alien flying object, this fan trick reminds me of a punching ball.
Godzilla
Ugly as a toad, strong as an ox. That pretty much defines this fan. This monster is actually only 80cm tall, but that doesn't stop it looking scary. And if that's not a well camouflaged Transformer, I'm ready to face the next onslaught of machines alone.
Another, another!
Do you work in an office? Then you're bound to have a spare USB port. Who needs a mouse, keyboard or charging cable? This winged snake looks like The Matrix with its coloured LEDs. I can never have enough air, so I always have one of these little fans plugged into my computer.
System D
Do you prefer to avoid buying when you can? Do you like to tinker? All the options are open to you: for example, you can follow Dominik's explanations. Or this video:
