1. Domaine Marcel Deiss Alsace 1er cru Engelgarten

A great Alsatian white wine from the single vineyard "Engelgarten," created from the interplanting of five grape varieties. It presents aromas of cooked orange peels and pears in the bouquet, underpinned by fine mineral notes. On the palate, there is a touch of exoticism and the characteristic taste impression of warmth and gentle notes of white fruits typical of gravel soils. In the long finish, the typical mineral structure and a generous creaminess are revealed. An opulent, very well-balanced, and dense white wine.

2. Domaine Marcel Deiss Alsace Riesling

On the nose, very lemony, underlined with fine mineral notes and hints of mandarin and pink grapefruit. On the palate, invigorating and refreshing, the wine showcases aromas of orange peel and stone, leaving behind the characteristic salinity often found in Riesling.

3. Domaine Marcel Deiss Alsace Riquewihr

The Riquewihr is a capricious cuvée made from Riesling and Pinot Gris, sometimes showing a crisp freshness and lightness, and at other times appearing a bit more serious and straightforward. The Domaine Deiss is a "superstar" of the Alsace wine region, led by Mathieu Deiss with the support of his father Jean-Michel, who manage the estate biodynamically. This white wine exudes a lush aroma of pear, peach, citrus fruits, and honey. On the palate, it presents a smooth, mineral acidity. With each sip, you will discover a subtle change in character that will delight you until the very last drop.

4. Domaine Marcel Deiss Alsace Grand Cru Schlossberg

A great rarity from the Grand Cru site Schlossberg. Domaine Deiss is a superstar of the Alsace wine region and is run by Marcel's son, Jean-Michel Deiss, who manages the estate biodynamically. The Schlossberg is a complex Grand Cru of great elegance and depth. The undisputed master of the Schlossberg is the Riesling, which thrives on sandy granite soil, giving it an intense mineral character. The wine has aromas of fresh herbs, citrus fruits, and a hint of wet stone. On the palate, you can feel its energy and a special vertical structure. An outstanding wine with a lot of potential, depth, freshness, spice, and saltiness. The somewhat medieval and sacred-inspired label was developed with an artist who masters ancient techniques and pigmentations. It showcases the colors of the soil and the distinctive structure and shape of the wine.

6. Domaine Marcel Deiss Le Jeu des Verts

An iron hand in a velvet glove! The estate strives to express the character of the marl from the Gruenspiel vineyard (one of the best sites in Bergheim). It does this in the form of an orange wine, meaning with maceration. Thus, the wine reflects its terroir and still guarantees a long aging potential. The wine has a phenomenal length, a slightly tannic structure, and impressive power. The aromas are characterized by yellow fruit and exotic notes, accompanied by mint, lime, and a cool, stony minerality. It pairs excellently with veal tartare and Riz Casimir.

7. Domaine Marcel Deiss Alsace 1er cru Burg

Semi-dry cuvée made from white and red grape varieties, partly from older vines, powerful and elegant, restrained and charming, fruity and mineral – a wine that is a contradiction in itself! The Deiss winery is located in the village of Bergheim in Alsace. Jean-Michel Deiss inherited the Schoenenbourg vineyard, which was planted not with one, but with several grape varieties. He took advantage of this and sought to vinify his wines as blends, contrary to the norms of the region at the time. He embraced the blending style and planted all his top sites with this type of mixed planting. The expression of Deiss's terroir is unique in the region, especially when combined with biodynamic farming and natural winemaking. Mathieu has now joined his father. They are not only leaders in the region but also do not follow trends.

8. Domaine Marcel Deiss Alsace Complantation

Complantation stands for the cultivation of different grape varieties in the same vineyard, whereby the different grapes are harvested at the same time. Deiss revives this historical Alsatian viticultural practice. The grapes express their Alsatian terroir better. Furthermore, the biodiversity of the different grape varieties protects them from diseases and reduces the need for spraying. Deiss is fully committed to respect for the environment and sustainability. Complantation is crisp and fruity on the nose with aromas of lemon, white flowers, pineapple and peach. In the mouth it is invigorating and extremely fresh and fruity with a slightly salty note. A very versatile food companion.

9. Domaine Marcel Deiss Alsace Grand cru Mambourg

Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Stephan Reinhardt writes about the vintage 2019: "The 2019 Grand Cru Mambourg offers a deep and pure bouquet with ripe stone fruit aromas intertwined with iodine and notes of crushed limestone and orange blossoms. Full-bodied, intense and bitter on the palate, this is a surprisingly matured Mambourg that shows bitters rather than complexity and rich texture. It is an impressive, pure, refined and salty wine with fine tannins, but I wonder if the best characteristics—the richness and ripeness—have not been sacrificed for the purity, but this might be a question of personal style. I personally would have expected more richness here." Powerful bouquet with aromas of yellow fruits such as pear, peach and quince. The wood is discreetly noticeable. On the palate, it is opulent and juicy with a nice viscosity.
