The Lindt brand was founded in 1879. Rodolphe Lindt, son of a Bernese pharmacist, wanted to make chocolate. At that time, chocolate was still hard, difficult to eat, and hard to process. It was only Lindt who succeeded in producing shiny, melting chocolate. A true sensory delight and a real pleasure. The foundation for success was laid, and twenty years later, he founded the now well-known Lindt & Sprüngli AG together with Rudolf Sprüngli, the founder of the first chocolate factory in German-speaking Switzerland in 1845.
