At that time, chocolate was still hard, difficult to eat, and challenging to process. It was Lindt who succeeded in creating shiny, delicately melting chocolate. A true sensory delight, a real treat. The foundation for success was laid, and twenty years later, he co-founded the now well-known Lindt & Sprüngli AG with Rudolf Sprüngli, the founder of the first chocolate factory in German-speaking Switzerland in 1845.
