Product details
Art. No.: 510001411 Product Name: 1:72 A-7E Corsair II. The model is a replica of the A-7E Corsair II aircraft. The LTV A-7 Corsair II was developed in the early 1960s to meet the specific requirement of the United States Navy for a new carrier-capable light attack aircraft to replace the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk and the piston-driven Douglas A-1 Skyraider. The aircraft was directly derived from the Vought F-8 Crusader fighter jet airframe. The A-7 featured a large frontal air intake below the cockpit, wings that could fold 35° to optimize usage and storage on aircraft carrier flight decks, and the introduction of a modern head-up display to enhance operational effectiveness. Thanks to its underwing hardpoints, the A-7 could carry an impressive payload based on conventional bombs, guided bombs like the Paveway, and air-to-ground missiles. The A-7E was the last version produced for the US Navy, featuring enhanced operational capabilities and the ability to deploy Harpoon anti-ship missiles and AGM-88 HARM anti-radiation missiles.
