I used the Lotus Grill XL for the first time yesterday. In the process, we overlooked the charcoal lid. Now the metal disc on the grill has turned a rainbow-like colour. It was so hot during grilling that everything on it quickly turned black. This was probably because the metal disc was directly over the charcoal due to the missing charcoal lid. My question now: Is this bad? Can I still use the grill without hesitation? It looks pretty battered.

Instructions for use are sometimes not bad if you follow them ;-)
With the charcoal lid on, the grill works much better. The discolouration doesn't matter and you can usually get it quite clean again with steel wool.
