1. Geistlich Wood glue Rapid
Holzleim Rapid is a dispersion-based adhesive based on polyvinyl acetate that is characterised by particularly fast setting and a long open time. It fulfils the requirements of stress class D2 and is designed for indoor applications. The glue is suitable for bonding hard and soft woods, wood-based materials, cardboard and paper. The bonding surfaces must be clean, even and free of grease and dust. It is usually applied to one side, but two-sided application is required for rough cut edges or hardwoods. The ideal wood moisture content is between 6 and 12 per cent, with a maximum of 13 per cent. The workpieces must be joined and pressed with at least 0.25 N/mm² within the open time of up to 15 minutes. The pressing time at 20 degrees Celsius is up to 20 minutes, at 30 to 40 degrees Celsius it is reduced to around six minutes. Further processing can take place after one to ten hours, depending on the construction and ambient conditions. Woods rich in tannin may tend to discolour when combined with iron. Fresh glue residues can be removed with water, cured material must be removed mechanically.

8. Geistlich Universal
The universal contact adhesive is a versatile, single-component adhesive with a long open time. It enables durable bonds that are resistant to aging and contains solvents. The adhesive is suitable for various materials such as leather, rubber, textiles, paper, wood (with moisture content between 6% and 12%), glass, porcelain, metal, and Bakelite. However, it is not suitable for copper, its alloys, or polystyrene foam boards. It is also incompatible with soft PVC, polyethylene, polypropylene, and polytetrafluoroethylene (Teflon).
The surfaces to be bonded must be clean, free of dust and grease. Application is done with a brush or spatula on both sides of the materials to be glued. For rough cut edges, a double application may be necessary. The parts should be joined within the open time and pressed with a minimum pressure of 3 kg/cm² for 2 to 3 minutes using a pressure roller. Further processing is possible after approximately 2 hours.
The adhesive is based on polychloroprene and has a yellowish color with a viscosity of about 3,400 mPa·s. The solids content is approximately 24%. Its density is 0.83 g/cm³. The open time is 2 to 3 hours at room temperature, while the evaporation time is between 15 and 20 minutes. The adhesive should be processed at temperatures between +10 °C and +35 °C, but it is no longer gel-like below +10 °C. The temperature resistance ranges from -30 °C to +70 °C. For storage, a dry environment between +15 °C and +25 °C is recommended. Frost should be avoided.
The shelf life is determined by the printed consumption date. The product is intended for experienced users only. Prior to use, individual tests should be conducted, as different materials and working methods can affect the results.
