Increasing the specified power reduces the lifespan of the drive shaft, while decreasing the power increases its lifespan. The stated power ratings are valid for a deflection angle of 5° at standard joints. Therefore, it is advisable to choose a larger PTO shaft than required, but never a smaller one.
