A high-quality drive shaft or power take-off (PTO) shaft is an essential component in agriculture, as it transmits the tractor's power to various agricultural implements.

To connect the PTO shaft to the tractor and the implement, a coupling is required that transfers the tractor's power to the shaft, allowing it to rotate. The shaft transfers the kinetic energy to the agricultural implement. However, if the implement continues to rotate after the PTO drive has been switched off (e.g., in the case of a drum mower or mulcher), a special freewheel coupling is needed to prevent excessive strain on the PTO shaft by not transferring the torque to the shaft stub.
