The D-fuse system is a first-generation screw fuse system that is still widely used in installations. The D-fuse system is applicable in low-voltage installations where the fuse inserts are accessible to laypersons and can be replaced by them. The D-fuse range includes sizes NDZ, DII, DIII, DIV, and DV. D-fuse bases with D-fuse inserts of the operating class gG are used to protect lines and installations. D-fuse inserts safely disconnect unacceptable overloads and short-circuit currents up to the rated cut-off current. They also protect electrical devices and installations from the electrodynamic effects of high short-circuit currents. DIN VDE 0636-3. The screw inserts and the design of the fuses ensure that no larger fuses can be screwed in than what is permissible for the line.
