No wonder: The layered system enables a better yield and the height of the cultivation area makes it easier to work. For long-term use, however, a material is required that demonstrates resistance in permanent contact with the heat-giving and nutrient-intensive rotting processes: For the Biohort raised bed, therefore, only hot-dip galvanized sheet steel with an additional stove-enamel coating of polyamide came into question.
