Product details

High peaks, jagged summits, turquoise mountain rivers, and a good dose of wilderness – the Julian Alps in the tri-border region of Slovenia, Italy, and Austria are a true paradise for mountaineers and via ferrata enthusiasts. Here, one can still embark on solitary mountain tours, and the karst rock faces offer many opportunities for ferrata climbers. The Slovenian walls and ridges are not yet as fully equipped with modern climbing facilities as those in the Alpine regions of Italy or Austria. Thus, the Rother via ferrata guide "Julian Alps" provides an excellent selection of 83 via ferratas of varying difficulty levels that allow you to experience the mountain world.

The guide features tours in the Julian Alps, the Steiner Alps, the Karawanks, and the Carnic Main Ridge. Three different via ferratas lead to the famous Triglav. In addition to such popular highlights, there are also plenty of insider tips.

Each tour is presented comprehensively: Detailed information on access points, base camps, duration, character, and difficulty of the tours makes planning easier. Alongside the thorough tour descriptions, hiking maps with marked routes ensure safe navigation along the way. Additionally, GPS tracks for all routes are available for download on the Bergverlag Rother website. A multitude of photos sets the stage for an enjoyable climbing experience.
