Innovative brake assistant for increased safety and comfort. The compact and lightweight OHMEGA, weighing just 190 g, is a brake assistant with versatile applications and a wide target audience. It provides real added value in terms of safety and comfort in the gym, on rock, and in alpine sport climbing routes (with single rope), benefiting both the climber and the belayer. Beginners, experienced climbers, and professionals, as well as teams with and without weight differences, will all benefit from it. The integrated HMPE sling allows for three braking levels to be set with a single hand movement, depending on the weight distribution. The built-in pulley ensures that the friction generated at the first intermediate anchor is less than when using a quickdraw, making the OHMEGA virtually unnoticeable during climbing and clipping, even on long and heavy routes. The short HMPE sling and the resulting minimal activation distance enable the belayer to secure dynamically and softly, reducing the risk of impact injuries. In the event of a fall, the camming mechanism slows down the fall, supports the belayer, and compensates for any weight differences. This prevents the belayer from being pulled uncontrollably upwards during a long fall. For ground-level falls, the OHMEGA reduces the risk of collision between climbing partners as well as the risk of ground falls due to its braking effect. Additionally, the OHMEGA reliably brakes even when the climber falls directly into the device.
