Edelrid Ohm 2.0

The innovative and successful Ohm has received several updates for easier usability. The 2nd generation of the resistor to increase braking effect in rope teams with a large weight difference now features a swivel joint, providing the device with greater freedom of movement. When attaching the Ohm to the first hook, the direction of attachment no longer matters. The closure system prevents accidental opening of the device and simplifies both rope insertion and removal during descent. In the event of a fall, the rope is pulled into the braking unit of the Ohm, and the fall is progressively slowed down. The device does not stop the rope abruptly but instead reduces its running speed. This allows the fall to be dynamically caught by the belayer, regardless of the belaying device used. The belayer needs to exert significantly less hand force on the brake rope and will not be pulled uncontrollably upward or against the wall.
