Edelrid Firn

The FIRN is a classic ice axe designed for simple to moderate high-altitude tours. Its straight shaft made of aluminum is lightweight and can be optimally held thanks to its ergonomic shape with a sandblasted, anodized surface. For even more grip, the lower part is additionally textured. The sturdy steel pick penetrates hard snow, firn, and ice effortlessly and feels comfortable in the hand due to its ergonomically shaped head when using the support pick technique. The large, stable shovel made of corrosion-resistant steel allows for efficient and quick work when creating steps or digging a T-anchor. The center of the shovel is aligned at a right angle to the straight shaft, which further increases efficiency when striking. The cutouts on the shovel contribute to the overall lightweight of the axe. The large cutout on the pick is designed to easily accommodate large carabiners.
