Edelrid Firn Guide

The Firn Guide ice axe from Edelrid is made from very lightweight materials and features thoughtful details, making it ready for demanding high-altitude tours. To ensure a secure grip, the shaft is sandblasted and anodized, providing excellent hold even in wet snow conditions. The pick's head tapers for better and easier positioning in the ice. The I-profile of the head ensures high torsional strength while keeping the weight low. The pointed shovel facilitates step cutting or burying the axe for use as a T-anchor. The center of the shovel is aligned at a right angle to the straight shaft section, which further enhances efficiency when striking. The cutout on the head is designed to be large enough to accommodate carabiners for attachment.
