Ryan Martz grew up surrounded by a steady stream of the most talented glassers on the coast, so it’s no surprise that he is now one of the most sought-after resin artists in the world. Ryan's father, Greg Martz, founded the Waterman's Guild in 1983 to create the best glass shop in Southern California, where Ryan learned his craft. "Growing up under my father, he was a perfectionist, so quality was always the top priority here, and that has been the case since day one." After earning his place and working his way up, Ryan developed his own distinctive style in resin work, with each piece being a unique painting of flowing pigments reminiscent of the movement of water or fire, frozen in time. For his third resin series for Carver, Ryan designed these custom old-school graphics, using pigmented resin on fiberglass for an authentic surf/skate aesthetic.
