In collaboration with the German Institute for Orthopedics and Sports in Bielefeld, Academy has set out to create a lightweight and high-quality children's bike that is optimally tailored to kids. Ergonomics and weight have played a crucial role in this design.

For children who are learning to ride a bike, weight is a critical factor. The Academy Grade 2 weighs just 5.3 kg, making it one of the lightest children's bikes on the market. Its low weight allows the Academy Grade to handle curves better and makes it easier for young riders to accelerate and tackle inclines. With a lightweight bike, little ones also need less strength to get it moving. The low step-through height of the frame allows for easy mounting and dismounting.
