The espresso puck screen is placed on top of the coffee cake pressed down with the tamper, ensuring an even water flow. The channeling effect is reduced, allowing for a uniform extraction of the entire coffee grounds. This results in all the aromatic compounds being extracted from the coffee.

Another advantage is that the brew head remains clean and tidy due to minimal contact with the coffee grounds. The coffee puck becomes more compact and can be ejected in one piece without making a mess.

This puck screen fits perfectly on 58 mm portafilters. Through repeated testing, MHW 3Bomber has determined that 58.35 mm is the ideal size. It fits precisely into 58 mm portafilters and reduces waste of coffee grounds.

The screen has a thickness of 0.8 mm, so the amount of coffee grounds does not need to be reduced. The entire screen is made of stainless steel (SUS304), making it very robust and durable. The mesh count of the screen is 11848.
