The main food source for wild cats is, of course, meat and fish. However, they also consume fruits, herbs, and vegetables through the stomach contents of their prey or actively seek and eat these. This is how a wild cat obtains the necessary vitamins, minerals, trace elements, enzymes, and secondary plant compounds.

For this reason, KAROO dry food primarily contains meat. The remaining food components have been selected in collaboration with scientists based on the actual nutritional needs of domestic and breed cats. Jerusalem artichoke belongs to the daisy family and contains the carbohydrate inulin. Another study conducted at the Institute of Medical Microbiology and Hygiene at the University Hospital of Freiburg showed that a healthy gut flora strengthens the immune defense of mammals, thereby protecting them from various bacteria and viruses.
