Hello I have installed the cat flap in the garage door. It works there. Due to the construction, super insulation in a heated room will not be possible. Especially not at low temperatures. Gap dimensions OK, a slight draught is noticeable, especially in windy conditions. greetings

Unfortunately, nothing is documented about the cut-out and no template is available. (I just had a look at the operating instructions). Since I had installed the flap in the cellar door and didn't want to worry about breaking too much, I ordered this flap, unpacked it, held it up to the door and drew in the outline to cut it out, cut it out with the saw and then enlarged the cut-out again because the flap didn't fit straightaway. Now, in retrospect, I would first make a template from the cardboard or thin wooden panel (craft plywood), which I would then use to draw the cut-out in the door.

The manufacturer states that the cat flap is suitable for doors (single/multi-glazed, PVC/metal, wall and wood) up to 85mm thick. Apparently the "361W" adaptor is required for glass doors (circular cut-out). More information on the manufacturer's website: https://closerpets.com.

Hi, so one of our cats won't let me hold him down much or anything. I pressed the button briefly, and then pressed and held it again and pushed the cat into the flap as slowly as I could. He granted like hell, but it flashed pretty quickly. And from then on he could get in and out without any problems. Changing the battery is no problem either. Someone once wrote that you have to re-register the cats after each change. That is not true. I have already changed the batteries twice and it still works.

No. The flap also had a decisive disadvantage for my purpose. I wanted to use it to control which cat could go out and which had to stay in (because we were new and had a long adaptation period). Disappointingly, this is not possible with the flap. If you set it so that only the "programmed" cat is allowed through, the way from inside to outside remains open for everyone. I assumed that both ways would then only be possible for the desired cat. My balcony is covered and protected from the weather. So without further ado I installed the flap the other way round. Now all the cats from the neighbourhood could get in. But only the "programmed" cat can get out. That works for me, because no strange cat would ever have come in before. However, this "reversal" would not have been possible if the outside of the flap was not weather-protected. Because now the batteries are outside. In addition, the assembly inside doesn't look very nice....
