Does the Cat Mate Elite cat flap require the adapter for installation in a window?

Is it true that every cat can go outside? In our case, we have an older and a very young cat. We would like to set it so that only the older cat is allowed out. Is that possible?

The flap is always unlocked, regardless of the setting (4 Way). It locks and unlocks again every 10 minutes. Reset several times, batteries replaced, with and without timer, familiarisation mode off, safety mode off. What can be done?

What is the difference to the Cat Mate Elite Selective?

I have "registered" my cat with Cat Mate Elite. Everything worked perfectly. The "get out" function works logically, as there is no big check. So I can push the flap outwards. How do I check whether the "in" function works? I can't manually push the flap inwards, the "locked" symbol appears immediately. Do I have to "push" the cat into the tunnel "from the outside"? She won't do it voluntarily, of course.

We have two chipped cats, both have been able to enter through the flap without any problems. Without warning, the flap no longer let either of them in, and after the reset only cat 1 can be read in, cat 2 is not saved. Hello, We have had the cat flap for several years & it has always worked perfectly (with our chipped cat). But now - all of a sudden - it no longer recognises the chip. I have already - cleaned the outside - tried re-recognition as well as going back to the factory setting. > no change Question a) Does anyone know this problem? b) How can I open the frame cover so that I can clean it (maybe the scanner is blocked?)? 1000 thanks.
