Question about Cat Mate Elite
Do you need the adapter or not? Once it says yes, once it says no. Galaxus doesn't mention anything or the description doesn't say that you need it, but that would be expected if you did. In addition, someone writes that the cut-out must be larger for or with the adapter, which in my opinion really makes no sense. Thank you for reports from your own experience - the information here does not allow any clear conclusions to be drawn!

Adapters are otherwise not required for round holes
If you connect the passage to a window glass, I would use the adapter as it minimises glass breakage in the corners. I have it without and the cellar window glass has cracked for the second time. Otherwise you don't really need it.
I installed in the large wooden frame of a glass window by cutting into the wood, using the recommended measurements in the manual. It worked well. I think the adapter is only needed for round holes - like those done in glass.
For my wooden frame it was not needed.
