VL Studio Table/Floor Lamp by Louis Poulsen

The VL Studio Table/Floor Lamp by Louis Poulsen is part of a series of spherical lamps designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen in the 1940s. Originally conceived for the Radiohuset in Copenhagen, the lamp was intended to indicate when recordings were taking place in the studio. The distinctive design of the VL Studio 320 Table/Floor Lamp features two differently shaped hemispheres and stands securely on the ground thanks to a slight flattening at the base. The globe is made of metal or painted aluminum and mouth-blown three-layer opal glass, providing a pleasantly soft light effect.
