The Fritz Hansen Orient P3 pendant lamp by designer Jo Hammerborg evokes the enchanting Moorish architecture of fairy-tale-like oriental cities with its traditionally hand-turned shade made of aluminum or copper in a wooden form.

Born in 1920, goldsmith and designer Johannes Hammerborg was one of the most productive and well-known lighting designers in Denmark at the time, particularly recognized for his famous designs for the interior design manufacturer Fog & Mérup, which produced Hammerborg's designs until the late 1990s. His pronounced and unique design philosophy, based on a deep personal understanding of form, function, and aesthetics, contributed significantly to his success. His famous Orient lamp has been relaunched in a modern version by Fritz Hansen since 2013.
