Fritz Hansen Orient P1 pendant light

The Fritz Hansen Orient P1 pendant lamp by designer Jo Hammerborg tells tales from 1001 Nights. It features a very primitive shape reminiscent of the typical roofs and arches of oriental architecture. Originally designed in 1963, the lamp was relaunched by Fritz Hansen in 2013 and is a masterpiece of excellent craftsmanship: the shade, available in various sizes, is hand-turned in a wooden mold made of aluminum or copper.

Johannes Hammerborg was a man of ideas, passionately dedicated to realizing his projects throughout his life. Born in Denmark in 1920, the goldsmith and designer developed over 180 designs for lamps, many of which received international awards, produced at the time by Fog & Mérup and now experiencing a revival through the Danish interior design manufacturer Fritz Hansen.
