    A lot of money for a few cm cable

    First impression: good cable, very precisely fitting plugs with bend protection.
    However, about the length of the cable specified by Apple on the packaging can be argued. I first believed in a mix-up and therefore remeasured:     *including* plugs, the laid out cable measures exactly 49 cm. The catch, however, is that the Thunderbolt connectors are very long by design (about exactly the same length as a USB connector) and the cable is also relatively stiff. The effectively available cable length without bending the cable is therefore only 35-40 cm when measured. That is just enough to connect a device directly next to the computer, but not more. If you want to have the second device a bit further away, you are definitely better off with a much longer cable.

    Summary: High quality cable, I expect as usual from Apple a problem-free application. Also as unfortunately usual from Apple but are the astronomical prices for accessories. The specified length, or the interpretation of "CABLE length" I find borderline. For this high price, Apple could have quietly delivered the 10-15cm more cable.
    Conclusion: Quite a lot of francs for a (too) short cable, which will probably fulfill its service as usual.

    Better not to experiment and buy what works!

    Expensive, but the only one that really works for everything. We have tested other cables, but then there is usually no picture or everything is very slow etc. But the Apple cables work for everything and without any problems!
