The gate has already given up the ghost after approx. 10 months of operation (cat stands in front of it and is not recognised). It is not due to the chip (checked by the vet) and there is no other way of reprogramming it - it no longer works as described in the instructions.
As we bought the product early (before the cat), the guarantee has now expired.
It worked ok before. In my opinion, it took a bit too long until the cat was recognised and could come in. The battery also had to be changed many times and I also find the display for this rather impractical: the device beeps briefly to indicate that the battery needs to be changed. Unless you happen to be nearby at the time, you don't know anything about it and the door unlocks automatically when it runs out of power. This means that even strange cats can go in and out (which has also been done).
So you may only notice that the battery is empty when other cats are in the house.
I will now buy another product and hope that the opening will work and that I won't have to have a new window cut.
