You can rely on this combination product

Want to bet that Maybelline's "Build-a-Brow" pencil is everything you want for your eyebrows after reading this article? The combination product of pencil and gel has completely convinced me - despite its questionable appearance.

The new "Build-A-Brow" pencil from Maybelline isn't exactly pretty to look at. With its design and name, it makes a reference to rough building sites. A stark contrast to my otherwise rather playful beauty products. But I have to give the 2-in-1 pencil one thing: it lives up to its name, because the pencil and gel tool is a powerful tool if you want to shape your brows.

With its fine brush tip, hairs can be easily imitated. This makes the pen perfect for filling in gaps with smudge-proof, painted-on brushstrokes. Up to this point, this is nothing innovative. There are plenty of comparable products. What makes the product special, however, is the integrated eyebrow gel at the back. Eyebrow pencils are usually only equipped with a small, dry spoolie brush that you can use to comb your brows into shape. I have yet to see a clear gel that fixes the hairs in such a duo combination.

Strong lines or fine, hair-like strokes: You can do both with the Build-a-Brow pencil.

Luckily, the gel also has a lot going for it. Firstly, it is easy to dispense. Too much gel on the brush? Not an issue here. The product reliably fixes the hairs without leaving any white residue. The brush is nice and small and easy to use. The fact that it is tapered makes it easy to guide and shape the brow hairs. The result is supposed to last 24 hours. I never wear my painted and groomed brows for that long, but it's definitely enough for a long working day.

Now, can you see which hairs are real and which are drawn on?

Finish by fixing and shaping with the gel, done.

Tip: Alternating between a lighter and darker shade creates more depth and dimension. This makes the result look even more natural.

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
