These shorts go with everything

Have you also spent the majority of the past months in comfortable, baggy sweatpants? The summer trend «tailored shorts» is the perfect compromise between comfortable and well (not baggy) dressed.
My fashion epiphany after more than a year in home office: my clothes have to be comfortable even when I’m not lying on the sofa or sitting at my desk. I want to feel comfortable around the clock. Beauty know no pain? I don’t care about that. Just the thought of skinny jeans makes me cringe. How could I have voluntarily squeezed into such tight pants for all these years? Fortunately, the temperatures are warm and wide cuts are in line with the weather. This makes switching from sweatpants to «everyday clothes» such as tailored shorts more bearable. When I wear these shorts, I look business professional but don’t compromise on comfort.
Tailored shorts are the short version of suit pants: details such as pleats, belt loops or (depending on the quality) the typical two-piece materials such as cotton, linen and silk is what makes them comfortable and chic. Its wide cut leaves room for air circulation on hot days.
How-to
The office look: pair the shorts with a tank top tucked into the waistband and a loose blazer in a breathable fabric such as linen. In your leisure time, leave the jacket. The advantage of simple design tailored shorts is that they pair well with sporty casual clothes. It’s a win-win situation because your outfit is more comfortable with sneakers, Teva or Birkenstock sandals and you’ll still be dressed for business. If you have a strict dress code at work, don’t despair, high heels or sandals are a good match, too.

When it comes to tops, the options are unlimited. Pair high-waist shorts with a fun crop shirt, for instance. If you don’t want your belly to show, reach for a t-shirt, spaghetti or tank top. In late summer or on a breezy evening, style the shorts with a thin striped sweater, a shirt or a blouse with ruffles.
What I combine with the trendy shorts:
While browsing through our range, I also discovered pretty versions made of synthetic and genuine leather. I’m looking forward to wearing these pieces up until late summer. In autumn, however, I’ll have to find a solution to my (skinny) jeans dilemma.

When I’m not exploring the depths of the sea as an open water diver, I enjoy plunging into the world of fashion. On the streets of Paris, Milan and New York is where I keep my eyes peeled for the latest trends. And I’ll show you how to take them from the catwalk to your everyday life.
