The coolest outdoor lamps of the season – in my opinion
With these table lamps, you can set bright accents indoors or outdoors – free of switches and sockets.
Looking for wireless lamps? In this article, I’ve listed my favourites from the Galaxus range for a modern indoor and outdoor area. My selection includes both expensive and more affordable designs, tall and small models and a variety of design styles.
The light from these rechargeable outdoor lamps generally isn’t enough to illuminate an entire balcony or garden. Still, it creates a feel-good ambience, marking out areas or lighting the way. And if the summer rain forces you indoors, these designs have the advantage that they also look great in the living room.
1. Mushroom-shaped
Some say mushroom lamps are just a trend. But I don’t think they ever really went out of fashion. That’s why Ellen To-Go is a great addition for anyone who wants to play it safe with timeless designs. The lamp consists of a dome-shaped shade and an aluminium stand. Since it directs light downwards, it provides a soft glow. It also offers three light levels and subtle colours: beige, white, black and olive green.

2. Spherical
The Dinesh plastic lamp shows off with its spherical shade, streaming light evenly in all directions. It has a classic design that can be easily integrated into various furnishing styles, and it’s available in different sizes and colours. Another plus for the lazy: you can adjust the light intensity manually or by using the remote control supplied.

3. Tiltable
Orbe’s shape is reminiscent of a spotlight since it produces a focused beam directed upwards. But unlike the original, this portable table lamp casts a subdued spotlight on a specific area. It has a removable and moveable magnetic diffuser, connected to a slim, matching cable and a base. Orbe can also change both its brightness and LED colour.

4. Cult hit
This design – half artwork, half lamp – is inspired by American artist and activist Keith Haring, whose works shaped Pop Art in the 1980s. It’s dimmable, waterproof and has been finished with a motif by Haring. The Lexon collection Keith Haring Love is a tribute to the artist as well as to the Lexon bestseller Mina, which impresses with its cute mushroom shape and useful features.

5. Moveable
Saranella could easily be mistaken for an ordinary basket. The table lamp conceals its light source behind a pretty artificial weave of rattan. It also scores points with three light levels and two handles, allowing you to hang it in two different positions.

6. Discreet
A single touch on the top is all it takes for Push-up to light up a room – in a discreet way. Since the light source is concealed inside, its beam only passes through the open slit. There’s also a dimmer under the base to regulate light intensity.

7. Airy
While many brands focus on shade design, Fatboy does the opposite. The brand gives its Bellboy an exciting lamp stand resembling a feather, allowing you to see through it. Another highlight: the design is made of powder-coated aluminium and can be charged either magnetically or via the USB-C port. You can use the button on its shade to turn on or dim the light. The colour selection ranges from red to light blue to black.

8. Sheltered
This reinterpretation of a lantern from the By Rydens brand has a figurative quality. Its lampshade looks like a hat, making it appear friendly somehow. Another fun feature is the touch dimmer. If you don’t like the colour white, you can also pick Castro in black.

9. Delicate
Nobody wants to be overwhelmed by home accessories, indoors or outdoors. So it’s all the better that designs like Pyramid satisfy precisely this need. The metal construction gives this lamp an airy appearance, catapulting it upwards. Both it and its dimmable light float virtually.

10. All tied up
The Rope lamp combines artisanal artistry with modern technology. A cordless outdoor light is concealed behind a body of coiled ropes. As soon as Rope is switched on, beautiful shadows are created around it, becoming more or less visible depending on the brightness level.
