Special festival guide: everything you need for your summer festivals
Festival season is here! Whether you prefer heavy metal or hip-hop, our advice will be useful at every festival and campsite.
In the enclosure of the festival
It is strongly advised to look at the weather forecast before getting started. Leave your umbrella at home, it mostly blocks the view of others. Better still: an emergency rain cape. Good shoes are essential - yes, even when it's hot. Anyone who's ever been to a festival knows that flip-flops are not a good idea for going to the toilet.
The camping spots
The camping pitches
Of course, when you go to a festival, expectations on the sleeping side are pretty much revised downwards. But we've still got a few tips to help you avoid rookie mistakes:
- Arriving a day in advance is worth it! Places in the shade are worth their weight in gold if you don't want to wake up in a sauna at 7am in the morning. Play it safe by still bringing a parasol or garden tent.
- Every hour of sleep is precious. An inflatable mat offers you a little comfort on hard floors. And, for the late hours, noise-cancelling headphones are your best friend... for obvious reasons.
- With a torch or headlamp, you get to the toilet without having tangled your feet in other tents.
- For the sake of your nose, avoid places near the forest or close to fences. Many people relieve themselves there even if there are toilets. The choice of pitching your tent by the water should also be made after careful consideration (mud formation).
Get busy between concerts
Practice again on the slackline, drift in the river or simply relax. Time spent between concerts and almost as good as time spent listening.

When I’m not busy putting together home décor themes or planning marketing activities for Galaxus, I enjoy decorating my home with things I love and starting DIY projects I finish all too rarely. The inspiration I get comes from blogs, magazines and travels. My favourite home living styles: Nautical, Scandinavian and Nordic.
