Emiro has collaborated with the family behind German reality TV show «Die Geissens» to create an egg cooker. Turns out, the device follows through on its promise of perfectly cooked eggs. And there’s a surprise in store too.

How many eggs do you need to cook per week to make buying an egg cooker worthwhile? Four at a time? Six? That’s the maximum number of eggs you can prepare with the Roberto Geissini egg cooker in one go. But what’s with the name? Well, the egg cooker was born out of a collaboration with Robert Geiss, the reality TV star and entrepreneur from the RTL2 series «Die Geissens». Technically speaking, his wife Carmen is the actual star behind the product, but more on that later.

Let’s start off with the fact that it’s incredibly simple to use. You just add two glasses of water to the heating element, pop the eggs in the holder, put the lid on and you’re ready to rock. The handy thing? The measuring cup’s housed behind a flap at the front of the device. In the base, there’s a needle you can use to pierce the eggs so that they don’t explode while cooking.

The egg cooker has a grand total of one button, and lets you know once the eggs are soft, semi-soft or hard-boiled. This takes eight, ten and fifteen minutes respectively. Here’s where Carmen Geissen comes in. She pipes up with her iconic catchphrase «Rooooobert» and then announces whether your eggs are «soft», «semi-soft» or «hard-boiled».

When I tested the gadget, it worked perfectly well, so I’ve awarded it the full number of stars. If Carmen gets on your nerves, there’s also an identical model without her angelic voice.

In a nutshell

Delivers on its promise – and it speaks!

Always wanted an egg cooker with the voice of Carmen Geiss? Well, that’s exactly what you’ll get. The device cooks eggs perfectly, is easy to use and doesn’t take up much space in the cupboard.

When I flew the family nest over 15 years ago, I suddenly had to cook for myself. But it wasn’t long until this necessity became a virtue. Today, rattling those pots and pans is a fundamental part of my life. I’m a true foodie and devour everything from junk food to star-awarded cuisine. Literally. I eat way too fast.
