"Millennial Pink" has to make way: Here comes the new Pantone trend colour
"Ultra Violet" will not have it easy. "Millennial pink" has dominated fashion and furniture design for two years. That has suited me so far. Alongside the two perennial favourites in my life: Grey and petrol, the trend pink has blossomed into the 3rd. Of course, you can't live in a marshmallow world forever, so it's time to welcome a new colour. To get us in the mood for it and 2018, I've selected the first favourites and discovered the advantages.
Curtain up for "Ultra Violet"

According to the Pantone Colour Institute, this colour will be very popular in the fashion, beauty and furniture sectors in 2018 - and it could even be cooler than "millennial pink", especially from a fashion point of view, because it:
- evokes fewer associations with Barbie and therefore exudes the desirable "sophisticated" effect.
- as a complementary colour, it harmonises perfectly with the current second Pantone champion: "Greenery".
- is worn less and thus lets us dance out of line.
- was already rocked by the leading actors in the film "Grand Budapest" by colour expert Wes Anderson.
- somehow lets us drift off into distant galaxies.
