Sunscreen I wear all year round
by Natalie Hemengül
Summer is finally coming out of hibernation - and I'm ready. With my bag packed, I'm in the starting blocks for extensive visits to the pool.
I haven't been kept in suspense for as long as this year. Somehow it was still too cold, too dark, too windy, too damp. Now temperatures and mindset are finally on the same wavelength and finding a common denominator: summer.
Top up on vitamin D, swap your pale complexion for a soft tan, let the lake or river wash the gloomy thoughts of winter from your pores. You can probably already tell - I can hardly wait to shoulder my basket bag and cycle to the nearest swimming centre with my towel and ice cream. As well as a bikini and a book to read, I also need the essentials that will prevent me from leaving with sunburn in the evening. First and foremost, of course, this includes sun cream.
But a cap or bucket hat is also part of my standard swimming pool equipment, as is a light shirt that can be thrown on quickly if necessary - for example when the midday heat is high or when going to the bar. The sunglasses are probably self-explanatory, and airy shorts protect my vision on the bike.
Ok summer, I'm ready. Nice to finally have the pleasure.
Always in the mood for good hits, great trips and clinking drinks.
