Keep it rolling: These are the new roller sports trends in 2018

created on 15.4.2018

Skateboards, scooters or inline skates – here are our new roller sports highlights. With this year’s trends, you’ll be on a roll!

The original

Penny’s «Graphics» skateboard comes with a striking graphic that’s designed by the Australian musician and artist Mitchell King. This model is the original Penny plastic skateboard that’s been around since 1970. Cruising around town or hitting the fun ark, you’re sure to have a great time with this board. Made of a secret plastic formula, this skateboard offers unique flex and stability. The soft wheels and manoeuvrable axles make sure you reach your destination quickly and safely.

We love it spicy

The «Reaper Reloaded» is the newest creation of the Chilli Pro teams, a perfect all-rounder that’s suitable for beginners and pros. It’s characterised by an accurate Street setup, a very friendly deck geometry and the XXL T-bar and equipped with the patented «Chilli Spider HIC», which was upgraded this year. Special or oversized components such as fork shim or XL T bar aren’t necessary anymore, as this scooter comes with standard dimensions. Plus, you don’t need a starnut, as the thread is built into the fork. This makes it possible to convert the Spider HIC to SCS and vice versa in a few easy steps. The systems are compatible. A test phase has confirmed that the riding and turning characteristics really are good – and the 120 millimetre wheels add to the fun.

Globber Starlight – the world on wheels

Globber’s newest vehicle is called «Starlight». This 3-wheel scooter for kids is great to teach balance and comes with a low deck, bringing the centre of gravity down and creating more stability. Starlight has a 3-height adjustable T-bar and a deck with 14 LED lights that flash in red, green and blue. Rechargeable through a Micro-USB cable, charge your scooter at home and off you go. To enjoy the lights, all you need to do is press the button on the deck and select your preferred lighting mode.

Rebel Jetster scooter

The «Rebel Jetster» by VMAX is a unique kick scooter with jets that release water vapour, giving it a cool jet plane look.

The inline skate revolution

Why Powerslide’s «Jasper Red» skates only have three wheels? Because that’s the future of skating! Skates with 3 wheels are lower than those with four, even if the wheels have the same size. Triskates are also faster and more agile. With «Atop» disc closure and padding under the flap that distributes the pressure evenly, your foot is locked perfectly into the shell and gets 360% support. These skates have heat-moldable liners, which adjust to your foot – a novelty for inline skates, but tested and proven with ski boots. Check out this video for more details:

On top of this, these inline skates are equipped with a 255 mm aluminium rail, ABEC 9 ball bearings and 3x110 mm wheels. This boosts control, agility, balance and power transfer to the next level.

K2 Trio 100

The «K2 Trio 100» has to be one of the most comfortable skates out there. Equipped for speed and performance of 100 mm skates, the Tri comes with the «K2 Original» softboot that offers great support and comfort. These skates have a lacing with three Velcro fasteners to adjust your desired fit. With 100 millimetre wheels and ILQ 7 ball bearings, you'll fly through the parks in your neighbourhood.

Rollerblade – the urban style

The «Metroblade» line by Rollerblade features more than classic skates: Built with cutting-edge components, these skates redefine what is unique, responsive, lightweight and stylish for an inline skate. It’s mobility on a new level paired with iconic design. In short, a great choice for urban and modern skaters.
