How to wear your turtleneck now

Too elegant or scratchy? The roll neck jumper is better than its reputation. I'll tell you how you can style it so that it looks anything but fifteen.
Although the turtleneck is one of the basics that belongs in every wardrobe, I'm not the biggest fan myself. I'm in danger of suffocating in it and suffer from hot flushes. It's a shame, really, because this item of clothing is so versatile. I'll show you the five best ways to wear them here.
#1 Shirt

The layered look not only keeps you warm, it also adds variety to your styling. If, like me, you love shirts but it's too chilly for them at the moment, you can wear a turtleneck jumper underneath. In this case, I recommend a turtleneck made from a fine knit, as a model made from a coarser material will look bulky. If you want to look broader or more muscular, go for it.
#2 Dress
This look works in the same way as the shirt version. While you go for a tight fit with the turtleneck, the dress should be a little loose so that the jumper doesn't show underneath. Rough boots and tights help to prevent chilblains on the legs and feet.
#3 Monochrome
Why make it complicated when it's easy? Instead of struggling to decide which colour matches your jumper, go for the same colour or at least the same shade from head to toe. Combine different materials such as leather, knitwear, corduroy or denim for an exciting twist.
#4 Highwaist
High-waisted mom jeans quickly look casual. If you want to avoid this, choose a tight-fitting turtleneck jumper in fine knit for this look and tuck them into the waistband. Still too casual? Then wear a pair of black ankle boots, the higher the heel, the more chic the outfit looks.
#5 Jacket
Blazer and shirt? Far too boring. Go for a turtleneck jumper for a change and make sure that the colours harmonise with each other when styling. If you decide on a pattern for one piece, for example, make sure that the other piece picks up on the same nuances. Trainers support the style break that stylists swear by for a well-rounded result.
One tip on the side: Be aware that a turtleneck will visually shorten your neck and, depending on your build, make you look smaller than you actually are. Alternatively, you can opt for looser styles that don't have a tight collar so that your neck is more visible. I'll tell you how to make yourself look taller next week.
