In love, it is difficult to stick to the rules in order to find the right person. It's different with carpets. There are a few things you can bear in mind when it comes to format. They will make your search for the right model for every room easier.

My first rug was a bad buy. It looked lost next to the bed in my shared room, which was a study and bedroom in one. It was supposed to separate the sleeping area. But that didn't work because I chose a round format instead of a rectangular one. A model that was sideways and parallel to the bed would have looked more harmonious. To help you make the right choice right from the start, I'll give you a few tips on the right size for each room.

In small living rooms, it is a good idea to emphasise only individual areas of a seating area. A small rug (approx. 140 x 200 cm) can score points under the armchair or side table. It does not have to reach all the way under the sofa and can also end up in front of it at a distance of 30 cm or more. Alternatively, it can reach halfway under the furniture (approx. 200 x 250 cm depending on the depth).

In large rooms, a rug (from 200 x 250 cm) should protrude to the right and left of a seating area without immediately abutting the wall. This way, it doesn't look out of place and enhances the area like a frame.

In small rooms, a mini format (60 x 90 cm) is suitable for the carpet. It should be positioned to the side of the bed and be either half as long or just as long (approx. 80 x 200 cm) so that there is room for the bedside table. The larger the room, the nicer it looks if you place the rug completely under the bed and table (from 180 x 280 cm).

In comparison to the living and sleeping areas, in the dining room, instead of Hoch- eher Niederfloreppiche. Use the dimensions of the dining table as a guide for the right size. The rug should be large enough for the chairs to stand on and still extend over them. Because when you stand up, the edges of the rug should not get in the way when you move it. Create unity by using the same shape - for example round or quadratisch – wählst.

The same applies here for the dimensions of your rug: compare them with the surrounding furniture. In the kitchen, a rug will look best if it runs along the kitchen unit and is roughly the same length. Opt for washable vinyl mats that not only withstand a lot of movement, but also ensure a smooth transition. In a hallway, there are sometimes benches or stairs along which a carpet of a similar width looks good.

The format can vary greatly in reading or play areas. Because armchairs often have soft contours, various formats such as ovale Silhouetten besonders gut wirken. In play corners, the rug should be appropriate for your child's height. It is also a bonus if there is space for toys on it.
