According to Pinterest, a bunch of people have set their sights on transforming their shower stall into a wellness oasis in 2023. Here are my fave products to do just that.
«2023 will be all about the elevated shower routine.» So predicts Pinterest in its current trend forecast. The platform bases its predictions on globally collected data from the previous year. Searches of «Amazing showers walk in» alone are up 395 per cent year on year. But since few of us have the option to go and replace their entire shower just like that, I’ve put together some flexible solutions fit for rental apartments. Believe me – a little can go a long way.
To take your shower game to the next level, I recommend you start off by replacing the bog-standard chrome steel shower head. There are plenty of beautiful, water-saving models, complete with a massage jet, mist spray and rain shower setting that’ll make you feel like you’re in a tropical rainforest. I recommend you go for a colour like copper, bronze or gold. It’ll warm up your bathroom and make it a lot more inviting. Are the shower fixtures in your bathroom black? Then stick with the dark colour to keep things harmonious.

If you want the real spa experience, visual tranquillity is the be-all and end-all. My recommendation: use organisation aids for your care products. Stylish baskets and shelves also serve as an accent, especially if you, like Pinterest user Morgan Nicole, sort your shampoos and the like by colour. Again, steer clear of chrome shower shelves when choosing a storage solution; it’ll help you avoid reflective surfaces that ruin the set-up’s overall harmony. The metal shelves below, for example, have a matt finish, and you simply hang them on the glass wall of your shower.
Corner shelves are another particularly elegant solution. They need to be screwed to the wall, but they save space.
If you need more space still, you can opt for shower wall shelves. These typically need to be drilled to the wall, but are a prettier solution than those with build-up-loving suction cups.
Not only care products should be neatly stowed. Your squeegee deserves a pretty place, too – that’s how you turn it into an eye-catcher. Indeed, more and more squeegees are available in pretty designs that feature beautiful pastel colours, playful shapes or wooden handles. Some include a matching bracket that you can mount directly to your shower wall. If not, they’ll have a ribbon you can use to hang them on a plain black or gold hook.
Sorting shampoos by size and colour helps to create a unified image. Even better? Repackage all your products in plain dispensers. You’ll find fitting fixtures for keeping products on the wall of your shower stall. That way, they’re also always accessible.
Any elevated shower routine is only complete with the right fragrance. Be it thanks to plants or scented candles, the point is it should smell like nature. Hanging eucalyptus in the shower and shower bombs that you put on the floor are especially popular options at the moment. The latter are different to bath bombs; the essential oils contained in shower bombs unfold with just a few drops of water as well as through water vapour. But because they’re still quite niche, I can currently only show you some alternatives we’ve got in our range – mini bath bombs and bath salts, for example.
On Pinterest, you can find numerous instructions for DIY shower bombs – a surefire way to increase the chance of relaxing showers.
