Carabiners, key chains, tassels - bags are now heavily decorated
Most of the time, we can only dream of catwalk trends. This one, spotted at Balenciaga and Miu Miu, is wonderfully affordable and easy to recreate for a change.
If you hear it jingling and rattling more and more often in the future, it's not necessarily a castle ghost on your tail. It's much more likely that it's a fashion victim. At Paris Fashion Week, they were shown a maximalist trend that they can emulate with minimal effort.
At both Balenciaga and Miu Miu, I spotted bags that were heavily embellished. With chains, with snap hooks, with locks, with key rings. That could get loud. And heavy. But the accessories for accessorising also have positive sides: The chains and pendants are a cool and inexpensive way to a) personalise your bag or b) give it an upgrade if you've had your fill of it. Similar to a bandana, you knot, clip or buckle the accessories of your choice to the bag handles - preferably even into each other.
No false modesty
The strategy for the Balenciaga look is clear: more is more. The trend is only successful when you can barely see the bag for all the clutter.

Less is more
If the Miu Miu look is more your thing, you can practise elegant restraint with this trend. A few leather or paracord bracelets, perhaps a narrow silk foulard, and you're done
